An original 3-layer structural fabric is used, modelled on the US Air Force "MA-1" flight jacket. The 3-layer fabric of nylon twill (surface) + polyester cotton (middle layer) + nylon taffeta (back) is very light, and the soft feel of the joining material and the bright rescue orange on the back provide sufficient contrast.
